A series of 50 plaster icons measuring 23x20 cm. Hung at eye-level spanning the entire circumference of the room, thereby the installation wraps itself around the viewee. Inside the gallery are portraits painted such that it could easily be misinterpreted as an inkjet reproduction. The white edge adds to the suggestion as most home-printers at default settings do not print to the very edge of the page. The rather everyday portraits could to be photographs. The figures have been photographed inside GE64, where they function as anonymous soldiers, canonfodder or surrogates for simulated threats. By giving these anonymized figures the attention of a portrait painting would imply their irrelevant importance. Almost making them immortal to be forever forgotten.
